Google is taking more heat for alleged privacy violations stemming from its Street Views service, this time in Sonoma County, Calif. In this instance, a Google Street Views driver went through a gate, past a "No Trespassing" sign, and past a watchdog to take his images. Think your private road is going to stop Google's prying eyes? Think again.

That's an amazing thing
Nvidia had one ugly second quarter. It lost money. It took a charge for defective chips. And it’s stuck with low-margin inventory it has to burn off. Amazing how a little price competition from AMD’s ATI can magnify poor execution at Nvidia.
We underestimated the price performance of our competitor’s most recent GPU, which led us to mis-position our fall lineup. A former vice president at Hewlett Packard has pleaded guilty to stealing trade secrets from IBM and passing them over to his new employers.
Atul Malhotra, a vice president of imaging and printing services at HP since 2006, admitted that he accessed and copied confidential information from his previous job as sales director in the IBM Global Services division.

Just hours after the official release of the latest refresh of Mozilla’s flagship browser, an unnamed researcher has sold a critical code execution vulnerability that puts millions of Firefox3.0 users at risk of PC takeover attacks.
According to a note from TippingPoint’s Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) , a company that buys exclusive rights to software vulnerability data, the Firefox 3.0 bugalso affects earlier versions of Firefox 2.0x.
